Nepean Concert Band - MusicFest 2001

The 1812 Overture with cannons. In Bath, Ontario. Lake George Community Band Festival

For many years, the Nepean Concert Band has been busy in the community, playing at various Ottawa-area landmarks including the Canadian War Museum and Parliament Hill, for festivals and special occasions (Canada Day, local Italian and Chinese festivals, and many others), at seniors residences, and at our popular (free admission!) summer concerts at Andrew Haydon Park.

We encourage everyone (young and young-at-heart) to come out and listen. More people at our concerts means more people enjoying themselves, and that's what we love to see!

Andrew Haydon Park
It's St. Jean Baptiste Day! Or, it will be on the date we play a concert in Andrew Haydon Park. This isn't a great description of the concert itself, because we will not be playing St. Jean Baptiste specific repertoire, but the writer's new calendar application has a lot of different Canadian holidays to which he can now refer.

Lake George, NY
This July, The Nepean Concert Band ventures to Lake George NY for our eighth annual shoe and soft serve excursion, with a bonus performance on Saturday afternoon in the coveted just-before-dinner slot. There'll be a full day of band performances, as well as other opportunities to go sightseeing and mini-putting, and plenty of ice cream for those who are able to resist leaving the clutches of the stores where, yes, you can even buy clutches. Please note: the writer of this description is aware that to some people, clutch is more than just the thing that disengages a vehicle's engine from its transmission.

Andrew Haydon Park
NCB will have just returned from the Lake George Community Band Festival, essentially a road trip to picturesque (and outlet mall-filled) New York, just inside the Adirondack Park boundary. You will likely hear some of the music we've prepared for the Lake George audience, you'll see the band after they've relaxed for the weekend, and you should see brand new shoes on a bunch of the band members.

Andrew Haydon Park
Closing out the summer park season, NCB plays August 5th to a sold-out crowd of people of all ages, plus a few ducks and several percussionists who have forgotten to make their way to the stage. All our concerts are free, but if you ever want to make a donation you can speak with a member of the band and they can tell you how to speak with our band president or treasurer. Thanks for enjoying the music we love to make for you for another year!
